The first Plymouth automobile was built on June 11, 1928. By 1935, Plymouth had risen to 3rd place in sales. In just five years a message was being conveyed: Fun – Action – Thrills – Find them in a Plymouth!
It capitalized on being the biggest low-priced car with all four: hydraulic brakes, safety steel body, weight re-distribution and using less gas and oil! The last Plymouth was built on June 28, 2001. The first and last cars were both equipped with four cylinder engines. They were both so designed to meet the needs of the low priced end of the automotive market.
Located in the intake manifold is the Plymouth fuel injector. The Plymouth has one injector per cylinder. Therefore a car with four cylinders will have four fuel injectors. The electric fuel pump feeds fuel to the fuel injectors. This keeps the fuel injectors under significant fuel pressure. It only requires a miniscule particle to plug or restrict the fuel injector. Carefully flush the fuel injector otherwise the chemicals might destroy the oxygen sensor or possibly even the catalytic converter.
Plymouth Voyager fuel injectors cost very cheap at somewhere around 37$. Plymouth Colt GL fuel injectors as well as Plymouth Breeze fuel injectors cost higher at around 120$ to 160$.
Located in the engine compartment or under the vehicle on the frame is the fuel filter. The fuel filter has a hose which comes out of either end. The fuel filter is reliably connected to the fuel system. It may also be located at the inlet of the carburetor.
It is so designed to trap dirt, water and harmful contaminants which can be a cause of problem for fuel systems. As a result of a contaminated filter undue pressure will be put on the electric fuel pump. This could result in the pump wearing out prematurely.
Changing the fuel filter at the right time ensures a dependable, trouble-free performance. This also improves the overall performance of the car.
Plymouth Breeze fuel filters cost about 20$ and a Plymouth Grand Voyager fuel filter costs about the same amount.
In the fuel tank or located along the frame rail close to the fuel tank is the electric fuel pump. Replace the fuel pump if you hear the fuel pump make a loud noise that can be heard over the noise of the engine. The fuel lubricates the fuel pump. Therefore try not to run your car out of gas. That could burn the fuel pump very quickly.
Plymouth Breeze fuel pumps come for approximately 168$ and fit vehicles made up to 12/1999. Plymouth Grand Voyager fuel pumps cost about 220$. A Plymouth Neon Expresso fuel pump is slightly costlier at 235$.
The exhaust starts from the engine to the rear where it exits the car. The exhaust valve opens and allows the exhaust to exit the cylinder head.
Plymouth Neon Expresso exhaust systems cost around 225$.
